I’m Oskar Holzmann, a photographer and videographer based in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Born in 1995, an Aries – and quite typical for one: when something sparks my interest, it quickly turns into a real passion.
For me, that passion has mainly taken shape in three areas: photography, filmmaking, and sports.

I shot and edited my first videos at the age of 12 on my mobile phone. At the time, I had no idea that this hobby could eventually turn into my profession.

Alongside the camera, the boxing ring was an important part of my life for many years. During my school years I competed as a boxer and became Berlin Champion in 2011.

After finishing high school, I completed a dual Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications, graduating in 2018. During that time, I worked in several advertising agencies and often found myself asking the same question:

Why spend weeks developing creative concepts that are later handed over to another agency for production?
Why not simply deliver both the idea and the execution yourself?

This question ultimately led me to fully pursue a career in photography and filmmaking.

From Berlin to the Atlantic – and around the world

In 2018, an Erasmus internship took me to Hossegor on the French Atlantic coast, where I worked as a surf photographer for six months – equipped with an underwater housing, fins, helmet, and wetsuit right in the waves.

Alongside photography, I also produced promotional videos for the surf club, which deepened my passion for visual storytelling.

While in Hossegor, I met the Australian filmmaker Kale Brock. Shortly afterwards I moved to Sydney, where I worked with him for several months and learned a great deal about professional filmmaking, production workflows, and storytelling.

After my time in Australia, I had the opportunity to join a superyacht as a cameraman, documenting a journey from Australia to Bali, Singapore, and Thailand. Many of my travel photos and videos were created during this time.

Today

After returning to Berlin, I decided to fully pursue my career as a freelancer.

Since 2018, I have been working as a professional photographer and videographer, helping companies, brands, and events bring their stories to life visually – from the initial idea to the final content.

My main focus areas are:

• Food

• Events

• Sports

In addition, I bring experience in social media marketing. For three years, I worked as Marketing Manager for MA’LOA Poké Bowl, where I was responsible for managing their Instagram and Facebook channels.
